With the simulation strategy, the students are re-creating a historical event or environment as they act out the situation based on facts researched about it. This immerses the student into history making it relevant to him or her. Depending on the grade level and academic level of the students, the simulation strategy could be as extensive of creating props, scenery and costumes for the lesson.

Makes the event or environment more memorable for student, perhaps increasing the chances of retention.
Requires a higher level of thinking for students to perform the simulation.
v Weaknesses
Teachers must be sensitive to the choice of historical events or environments to act out and must make sure that the class is the appropriate maturity level for the simulation.
Students could easily be led off-track if he or she has a hard time focusing.
If a student interprets information incorrectly, he or she may act it out incorrectly.
